Saturday Craft-Tacular - Pyrography Pendulum Board
Welcome to the final Samhain’s Sirens Saturday
Craft-Tacular. Today we’re finishing up
our hauntingly good time with a visit to the spirit world. A pendulum board is usually a piece of wood
with words or letters on it used in conjunction with a pendulum to communicate
with the spirit world.
The pendulum is held over the board and will sway back and
forth in response to questions asked by the holder of the pendulum.
Today I’m going to show you how to make a wooden pendulum
board using Pyrography.
Pyrography is wood burning. These design
can be as simple or as complicated as desired.
Just as with any other craft the more practice the better the end
result.
So let’s get started!

Using the Wood Burning Tool carefully outline the board

Finish the board with a poly coating – This is usually a
good idea to protect the board from spills.

I love the dragon egg from Sosanna's Etsy shop.

Aww thanks Rebecca! When I posted those someone told me, that they weren't very realistic. I crack up every time I think about it! :)
DeleteI have liked Sosanna's Closet on facebook.

First, the Hunter Green velvet with the white roses scrunch hat is gorgeous. Those scrunch hats are going to be a hit! If ever someone puts on a fashion show with "For the busy witch who must look good while she helps organize events" theme, those scrunch hats should be featured!
ReplyDeleteSecond, thank you for posting the pendulum board tutorial. You made it look easy (as talented people often do -- it's only after the rest of us attempt the project that we find out it takes skill and practice to put out a lovely piece)
Third, my favorite item on the Sosanna's Closet website is the lapis lazuli round pendulum (not on the esty site, (?) it is a lovely item).
Thanks so much for your comments. The lapis I just took down as it sold yesterday. Those hats seem to be a wonderful addition to the closet. I have a cloak in that same hunter green material and it looks amazing together! Project Runway needs to have the Witch Edition!! LOL
DeleteI love the mini clay dragons, mini goddesses, boot centerpiece, witch hats... I just like it all!
